Wordpress makes it easy to transfer your posts to another blog with a click of a mouse using the export and import buttons at the admin section. This makes it easy for bloggers who do not want to touch their databases.

But what happens if you cannot access the admin section of your wordpress blog or something happens and suddenly users cannot access your site. There are a lot of options you can explore. If you have not saved a copy of the most crucial asset of a blog(the posts), you do not have to panic. There is another way you can access your hundreds of posts and import it into a new blog or to another host. In this post I will only handle exporting posts from a database.I will touch on importing the posts into a new blog in my next post.

Sometimes we just need to put together a quick web app for prototyping, discuss screen flows, design layouts, create web services etc. I found AppFuse to be a pretty good option for this purpose.

You can follow the steps in this article to setup your environment and create a new web application with AppFuse. The best thing is that once your environment has all the requirements setup it is super quick to create as many new web apps whenever you need. Even if you aren’t very familiar with things like AppFuse, Maven, Spring, Hibernate etc but still want to be able to generate new web apps, just try to endure the first steps – once you see the web app up and running on your computer I am sure you will be more motivated to learn it all through AppFuse.

I’ve noticed that django always fetches ‘naive’ datetimes from the

database. Tzinfo property on a datetime object is always set to null,

even if the database stores a value WITH a timezone.

This is a bit tedious because such datetime cannot be later converted

As part of the Army’s transformation towards a modular force, in 2005, the composition of the 35th Infantry Division was changed. The 218th Infantry Brigade stood down in the 7th Division, and stood up in the 35th Division .

On order, 45th infantry brigade mobilizes, executes post mobilization training, deploys to designated theater of operations, organizes for combat and conducts military operations, stability and support operations as directed.

People (myself included) do a lot of really stupid things, at times, in the name of «getting it done.» This list simply reflects the database design mistakes that are currently on my mind, or in some cases, constantly on my mind. Members of Congress use «earmarks» to provide federal funding to companies, projects, groups and organizations, often in their district. This database in large part seeks to detail how the recipients of federal earmarks interact with the federal government through lobbying efforts and campaign contributions. Readers may now, for example, determine the degree to which people and political action committees associated with a specific company or organization have donated money to a congressman responsible for giving that company or organization an earmark. The database is sortable in a variety of ways, including by House and Senate members. It also provides detailed information on the number and value of earmarks members of Congress have requested during fiscal years 2008 and 2009.
